What We Do

Representation.

IDP provides advice, assistance, and publicity, and shares our expertise with attorneys and organizations who provide legal representation to those who find their rights infringed, or their legitimate activities curtailed, by demands for identification.

Education.

IDP builds public awareness about the effects of ID requirements on fundamental rights.  The First Amendment rights of assembly, petition, and speech, our fundamental right to travel, and our basic rights to hold property and transact business are all affected. IDP provides expert testimony and written submissions and consults with policy-makers and advocates in regulatory, legislative, and legal proceedings that impact these rights.

Knowledge Base.

IDP maintains an extensive repository of white papers, commentaries, and analysis relating to identity-based domestic security programs.
